CONCINNITY 24 - Date and Theme Announcement

​Hello everyone! After a successful Concinnity 23 with an attendance of 439, we have started planning Concinnity 24.

We are happy to announce that the date for Concinnity 24 is Saturday, April 20th, 2024 from 10 AM - 10 PM in the MSOE Dwight and Dian Diercks Computational Science Hall located at 1025 N Milwaukee St. Our theme for Concinnity 24 will be *To Concinnity...and Beyond!*

Out of respect to our fellow college students, we are moving the date of Concinnity 24 from May 4th to April 20th, 2024 to avoid finals week.

CONCINNITY 23 - Tickets Open and Other Features

Hello! We are excited to announce a lot of things are happening behind the scenes for Concinnity 23. This will also be posted in the costs tab for future reference.

Second, we are happy to announce our new guests:
  • Stacey Smith? (sic), Ph.D. (https://science.uottawa.ca/mathstat/en/people/smith-stacey): University of Ottawa, Department of Mathematics and Statistics, specializing in the mathematical modelling of infectious diseases; will co-host "The Zombie Apocalypse: Math, Myth and Reality."
  • Charles Tritt, Ph.D. (www.msoe.edu/directory/search/?query=tritt): MSOE Associate Professor, Electrical Engineering and Computer Science, and a biomedical engineering expert; will co-host "The Zombie Apocalypse: Math, Myth and Reality."

Second, we would like to announce that tickets are now available! You can purchase them here: [insert link here]. Costs can be found on our Costs page, but for ease of access they are: 
  • Children under 12 and MSOE Faculty/Staff/Students with ID: FREE
  • Children 12-17: $10.00
  • Adults: $15.00
  • VIP: Add $10.00 to previous price for reserved first row seating at panels, plus two soda or snack vouchers.

Third, we will be doing a separate Cosplay Contest for amateurs and more experienced cosplayers! 
Fourth (and finally for this announcement), we are looking to once again have Living Dungeons starting this year! If you’re not familiar, living dungeons are productions put on by MSOE's Theater Troupe that lead you through puzzles as a sort of LARP experience.

Additionally, we have partnered with a new (for us) media outlet! WMSE 91.7FM is a non-profit, listener-supported radio service educationally licensed to the Milwaukee School of Engineering. WMSE’s on-air staff is made up of dedicated community volunteers who specialize in the genre that is featured on their respective programs. CONCINNITY 23 - Various Updates Announcement

Hello everyone! As you may well know, we are a college con, which means that the new school year has started and with it we have been planning Concinnity ​23. It is my pleasure to announce that the date for Concinnity 23 is Saturday, April 22nd, 2023 from 10am-10pm! 

Furthermore, vendor, panel, and event forms are now open! The deadline for these will be 1 month before the con (March 22nd), and our aim is to respond within 2 weeks of your submission of the form.  For the purposes of the con, panels are similar to interactive (or not interactive) presentations while events are more similar to games or tournaments. For example, you could host a streaming, analysis, or writing advice panel, but a game of mafia would be an event.

CONCINNITY 22 - COVID 19 Protocol Update
(CONCINNITY 22 - 10 April 2022)

As  we approach Concinnity 22, we believe it is right to take note of changes in mask and vaccine policy throughout many industries and MSOE, and change ours accordingly. Therefore, as per MSOE and the city of Milwaukee's updated policies, Concinnity 22 will be going mask recommended and vaccine optional. We are excited to see everyone here!

Concinnity 22 will be held from 10:00 AM to 10:00 PM CDT Saturday, April 23 in the Dwight and Dian Diercks Computational Science Hall, 1025 North Milwaukee Street, Milwaukee, WI 53202, on the Milwaukee School of Engineering campus in downtown Milwaukee. We can't wait to see all of you there in person!

Concinnity 22 COVID Policy

In accordance with the Milwaukee School of Engineering and City of Milwaukee's COVID-19 restrictions, facemasks are required, in addition to proof of vaccination (original card or copy, or electronic image) or a negative COVID-19 test within 72 hours of the convention. Thank you for your understanding and cooperation.

CONCINNITY 21 - Convention Discord & Vendor Applications Opening

MAGE is happy to announce that as we move online for this year's con, we will be using Discord to host most if not all of our events. To attend, please join us on the server (https://discord.gg/RhE4pNK9UN). An attendance role will be given to people who read the rules and react to the bot message below it with the correct reaction. 

For those unfamiliar with Discord:
Discord is a social media platform much like Skype or Facebook Messenger. You can make an account for free. It does not require any downloads. It can be run in browser on a desktop at https://discord.com/app, though it shouldn't be necessary to use that link when initially joining the server. To register for an account, go to (discord.com/register), fill out the relevant information, and do the email verification. After that is done, click the link at the top of this announcement. It will redirect you to a page that prompts you to join our server. When you get redirected to the website, on the left hand side should be a tab that says #rules. Click on that to go into the rules chatroom. In order to react to the bot, click on the emoji below it.

CONCINNITY 21 - Date Announcement
